Tyson Closing A Springdale Plant, Cites 'Changing Demand' For Speciality Products

Tyson Foods said this week that it will close its small processing plant on Ford Avenue in Springdale.

Citing “changing demand for certain specialty products,” the company confirmed via news release that it will shut down the plant after 15 years of operation.

About 60 hourly employees work at the plant. Tyson said that hourly employees are being offered positions at other company locations in Springdale and northwest Arkansas.

Tyson’s Ford Avenue plant opened as the company’s research and development pilot plant.
