This Week: Michael McGibbony, senior vice president of managed service accounts at Signet6 Network Services.
Background: McGibbony attended Rhodes College in Memphis before enrolling at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, subsequently earning a degree in accounting. He later served as the vice president and controller of Tipton & Hurst Inc. and as vice president and CFO of Dunlap & Kyle Co., where he had a hand in creating an information technology infrastructure and managed the company’s first-ever aviation division.
Experience: Before joining Signet6, McGibbony was employed as deputy director and COO of the Arkansas Department of Information Systems. He also served as CEO of Smartware Today, a company providing monitoring, management and notification systems for businesses and residences. In addition to his career, McGibbony has held board-level positions with the University of Arkansas at Little Rock Computer Science Advisory Board, the University of Arkansas Information Technology Research Center and the Sam M. Walton College of Business at the University of Arkansas.
Position: As senior vice president of managed service accounts, McGibbony will lead an assortment of projects, including an assessment of managed service deliverables to enterprise accounts. He’ll begin working with selected accounts to address aspects of service delivery and will report to Roger A. Snyder, general manger for the Signet6 Managed Services group. “With over 26 years of experience at the IT executive level, Mike McGibbony has the kind of broad-based knowledge of technology and related business processes that is critical for successful delivery of optimal solutions for our clients,” Snyder said.
