The National Endowment for the Arts this week announced that it has awarded The Oxford American a $75,000 Art Works grant to support production of SoLost, the nonprofit's series of online videos.
The grant is the largest the NEA has awarded to The Oxford American as yet and brings the organization's total NEA grants up to $185,000 over six years.
The Oxford American is a nonprofit organization that publishes its eponymous magazine of Southern writing in Conway. The SoLost video series comprises short episodes that explore the complexity and vitality of the American South.
SoLost won the National Magazine Award for Video in 2011 and is currently among five finalist's for this year's award, which will be presented Thursday.
