AT&T Boosts 4G at UAMS With Distributed Antenna System

AT&T announced Tuesday that it has finished installing a 4G LTE Distributed Antenna System on the campus of the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock.

According to a news release, the DAS installation covers about 1 million SF of the UAMS campus. It consists of strategically-placed antennas to distribute AT&T's wireless network coverage across the campus. The system is intended to enhance network efficiency in highly trafficked areas, improving call reliability, data traffic capacity and network access.

"We want our customers to have a great network experience wherever they are, no matter what they're doing — whether that's making a call, checking email, downloading apps or surfing the Internet," Ed Drilling, president of AT&T Arkansas, said in a news release. "We're committed to our investment in the local wireless network, and providing enhanced wireless coverage at UAMS is just one way that we're investing in Arkansas."

AT&T has also installed DAS at the Statehouse Convention Center, Robinson Center and War Memorial Stadium in Little Rock and the Reynolds Razorback Stadium and Bud Walton Arena at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville.
