The Cellular Connection has announced the opening of a new location in Little Rock. The store, at 2608 S. Shackleford Road in the Shackleford Crossing Shopping Center, is the cellular retailer’s fifth in the state. The store opened on May 31.
“We’re pleased to have the opportunity to continue our growth in Arkansas and provide the residents of Little Rock with valuable wireless expertise,” Scott Moorehead, president and CEO of TCC, said in a news release. “Our dedicated team is committed to providing extraordinary customer service to the local community.”
The new store features what TCC calls its “rock star” layout, which offers a lounge area where customers can experience a “comfortable setting for playing with devices and accessories.” Manager Glen Haynes said the layout is designed to remove any physical obstacles that could interfere with employees assisting customers one-on-one. “We don’t have a ‘counter barrier,’” he said.
Mounted on the store’s walls are “lifestyle stations,” screen displays that showcase products in a way that is “geared toward the interests of the customers,” Haynes said. For example, one of the stations is fitness-themed, while another is designed to appeal to outdoor enthusiasts.
The Cellular Connection has three other stores — two in North Little Rock and one in Bryant — within 15 miles of the new location. Haynes said the new store, which employs five people, offers more high-end accessories than the other nearby TCC stores.
Before becoming a Cellular Connection store, the location was a Verizon Wireless corporate retailer. TCC is the largest Verizon premium wireless retailer in the U.S., according to Cellular Connection’s website.
In addition to cellphones and cellular devices, the store also sells a variety of home electronics and services, including Sonos audio systems, Dish Network’s satellite TV service and Comcast’s Xfinity cable TV service.
