Sports station KABZ-FM, 103.7 (The Buzz) in Little Rock has formed a content-sharing alliance with Sporting Life Arkansas, a website and print publication that covers sports across the state.
The two entities began the partnership a couple of weeks ago, said Justin Acri, program manager for The Buzz.
“It’s not really an exclusive partnership,” Acri said. “It’s just a sharing.”
Acri said that under the partnership, several of The Buzz’s radio personalities will provide editorial content for Sporting Life.
“Sometimes it will be a news-based story, and sometimes it will be opinion-based,” Acri said.
Also, some of Sporting Life’s feature writers — Jim Harris and Evin Demirel, for example — will participate on-air at The Buzz.
As part of the agreement, Sporting Life is running ads for The Buzz online and in its printed football preview. In exchange, The Buzz will run some on-air ads for Sporting Life.
“It’s going to provide our audience with folks like Justin and Trey Schaap and Rick Schaeffer and help us extend and improve the voices that we offer our audience,” said Simon Lee, publisher of Sporting Life.
Sporting Life started up shortly after former Arkansas Business Publishing Group product ArkansasSports360.com was shut down.
In fact, during its life, Sports 360 enjoyed a similar partnership with The Buzz, Acri said.
