Reuters reports today that Wal-Mart Stores Inc. of Bentonville is considering a bid for the Hutchison Whampoa Ltd. conglomerate's ParknShop chain, a supermarket group controlled by Asia's richest man, Li Ka-shing.
All this, as Wal-Mart continues to push forward with expansion plans in China.
Wal-Mart isn't commenting on the report. Reuters cited sources "familiar with the matter."
