Store of the Community of Bentonville announced recently it had won a contract with the Professional Bull Riders Inc. of Pueblo, Colo., one of the world’s largest bull riding organizations.
According to Chris Barnett, who performs business development for the agency, Store of the Community was developed in 2004 by several former marketing executives, many of them from Wal-Mart Stores Inc., also based in Bentonville.
Barnett said the agency develops marketing platforms for its clients and deploys them exclusively at Walmart stores. It’s part of the 8th & Walton Group, which includes several other Wal-Mart-centric companies, but Barnett said the agency is not owned or operated by Wal-Mart.
For its new client, Store of the Community will set up promotions like autograph signings and mechanical bull rides at Walmart Supercenters within a 25 mile radius of a Professional Bull Riders event.
“What that does is not only layer sponsorship opportunities for PBR, but we can also give ROI and convert this exposure into sales,” Barnett said.
