Acting US Surgeon General to Speak at LR Advocates Conference

Rear Admiral Boris Lushniak, acting U.S. surgeon general, will speak at the Low Income Advocates Leadership and Community Development Conference in Little Rock on Wednesday.

The two-day conference, "Bridging the Health Divide: Healthy Families, Sustainable Communities," will be held at the Doubletree Hotel in downtown Little Rock. Other speakers will include the state’s surgeon general, Dr. Joe Thompson, and the former state and U. S. surgeon general, Dr. Jocelyn Elders.

The event is co-sponsored by Central Arkansas Development Council in Benton, a 12-county private, nonprofit community action agency, and Entergy Arkansas.
