Dr. Sandra Massey was selected to succeed the recently retired chancellor, Larry Williams, after a three-month search that attracted 46 applicants. ASU-Newport serves 2,079 students on campuses in Newport, Marked Tree and Jonesboro. “I’m honored to be entrusted with this responsibility,” Massey said in a news release. “We have a wonderful team on all three ASU-Newport campuses. We will continue to educate students who can improve their lives while helping our region’s businesses and industries grow.”
A Jonesboro native, Massey received bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Arkansas State University at Jonesboro and a doctorate in education from Oklahoma State University.
