James Bolt Pleads Not Guilty, Trial Scheduled

James W. Bolt of Rogers was arraigned Monday in U.S. District Court in Fayetteville, where he pleaded not guilty to a 12-count indictment for wire fraud, mail fraud and money laundering.

The indictment, handed down by a grand jury last Wednesday, replaces and mirrors a criminal complaint filed by the FBI on Aug. 29. It describes a sophisticated scheme in which Bolt twice forged documents in order to claim property that was listed as unclaimed by the state of California.

A trial date of Nov. 18 was set. Bolt was determined to be a flight risk and is being held in the Benton County Jail.
