Hailey Knight has been promoted to executive director of the Downtown Jonesboro Association. Knight was previously marketing and public relations manager for Focus Inc.
Jesse Rodriguez, vice president of operations for Splash Carwashes of Little Rock, recently served on the “bright work” team that detailed the aluminum and other metals of the original Air Force One at the Seattle Museum of Flight.
C. Murray Smart Jr., former dean and professor emeritus of the Fay Jones School of Architecture at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, has been honored with the naming of the lobby of Vol Walker Hall in his honor. The naming of the C. Murray Smart Jr. Lobby was made possible by a $250,000 commitment from Smart’s son and daughter-in-law, Clifton J. Smart III and M. Gail Smart.
Jean Belcher and Joy Sewell have been promoted to consumer banking officers in the western region of Simmons First National Bank. Belcher, a 23-year employee of Simmons, is manager at the Fort Smith Brooken Hill branch. Sewell is manager of the Charleston branch. She has worked for Simmons for more than 14 years.
Daniel Keeton, Ashley Cloud, Dilynn Dodd and Chris Sossamon have joined Farm Credit Services of Western Arkansas. Keeton is a regional field services officer who will provide support to branches in Bentonville, Siloam Springs, Fayetteville and Harrison. Cloud is a regional financial services specialist, and she will be working with the four branches. Dodd and Sossamon joined the Fayetteville branch office as loan officers.
Helen Walker Tolar has assumed the job of chief of staff for U.S. Sen. John Boozman, R-Ark. Tolar is a 12-year veteran of Capitol Hill who most recently served as staff director and chief counsel for the House Committee on Veterans’ Affairs.
Dr. Joanne Holliman has joined the active medical staff of North Arkansas Regional Medical Center in Harrison. Holliman grew up in Lima, Peru, attended medical school at Peru’s National University of San Marcos and completed her pediatric residency at Lincoln Medical & Mental Health Center in the Bronx, N.Y. She is certified in basic life support, pediatric advanced life support and neonatal advanced life support.
Mark Odom has been named chief information officer at St. Bernards Healthcare in Jonesboro. He was previously CIO for Lubbock Heart Hospital in Lubbock, Texas.
Brenda Chase has been named chief operating officer at Mercy Northwest Arkansas. She previously served as ambulatory care director, assistant vice president and vice president of patient care services and COO for Mercy Hot Springs.
Gov. Mike Beebe and the late Dale Nicholson will be presented with awards later this month by the Arkansas chapter of the International Association of Business Communicators. Beebe will be named Communicator of the Year at the Oct. 25 luncheon. The John K. Woodruff Award for Lifetime Achievement will be awarded to Nicholson, who was chairman of KATV, Channel 7, when he died in June.
