U.S. Pizza Co.’s location at 5524 Kavanaugh Blvd. in the Heights is undergoing an extensive remodel, with all but three walls pulled down in the past couple of weeks.
Drew Weber, U.S. Pizza’s chief operating officer, said the remodel is costing $200,000 to $300,000. The restaurant will add only about 400 SF, but it’s expanding the kitchen and adding landscaping along the lines of the extensive landscaping at the U.S. Pizza headquarters in Hillcrest. The building is coming out 12 feet toward Kavanaugh and will feature a 10-foot awning to cover a planned patio, Weber said.
The Little Rock chain has its own maintenance crew, and they’re doing the remodel of the site, which opened as a U.S. Pizza in July 1987.
The project is expected to be complete by the end of this year or the very first of next, Weber said.
