Cranford Johnson Robinson Woods of Little Rock said Monday that two of its top executives have been inducted into an American Advertising Federation hall of fame.
According to a news release, Chairman Emeritus Shelby Woods and CEO Wayne Woods were added to the 10th district of AdFed's southwest hall of fame. Shelby Woods and Wayne Woods are brothers and join Wayne Cranford, also chairman emeritus, as the only Arkansas inductees in the 10th district, which includes Arkansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma and Texas. Cranford was inducted in 2008.
"All of us at the agency are extremely pleased that Shelby and Wayne are being honored in this way," Cranford said in the release. "Their contributions to Arkansas, especially with respect to tourism, are legendary. They have been driving forces behind building that industry which is so important to the state and which generates billions of dollars year after year."
Shelby Woods founded the Woods Brothers Agency in 1967 to focus on promotion of Arkansas as a tourism destination. The agency merged with CJRW in 1990.
"Without a doubt, the Woods brothers and Wayne Cranford have set a high standard of excellence for our industry and civic leadership," Randy Kemp, co-chair of the Southwest Advertising Hall of Fame, said in the release. "We are delighted to recognize them with this honor for their years of hard work. It is well-deserved."
