The number of homes sold statewide in September increased by 18 percent, according to data released Friday by the Arkansas Realtors Association.
The number of homes sold in September rose by more than 18 percent compared to the same month a year ago. Meanwhile, the average price of those homes sold decreased by slightly more than 1 percent.
The average price of homes sold in the 43-county area surveyed by the group fell from $157,637 in September 2012 to $155,126 in September 2013.
Statewide valuations in September increased by over 16 percent from last year, according to the organization.
