American Tubing Plans $3.2M Expansion, 50 New Jobs

American Tubing Inc. of Springdale, a company that makes copper assemblies and components for air conditioning and refrigeration products, said Tuesday that it plans to expand its facilities by 20,000 SF and add 50 jobs.

The expansion of American's plant at 2191 Ford Ave. will accommodate the "growing demand" of aluminum assemblies and components. The expansion will cost $3.2 million, the company said.

"We are extremely excited about this new product line," Chuck Lewis, the company's president, said in a news release. "We have worked closely with our customers for the past two years to be ready for production in 2014. Since 2008, business has been somewhat flat. Growing and innovating is what we do best. It’s good to have too much to do again."

Once the addition is complete, American Tubing will have 80,000 SF of manufacturing area for both copper and aluminum. It expects to add 50 employees, a 31 percent increase for the manufacturer with an estimated annual payroll increase of $1.35 million.

American Tubing has been in operation since 1976. Its components are used in defense and commercial industries. The company is a subsidiary of National Tubing Holding of Birmingham, Ala.

The company said that anyone interested in working for American Tubing should contact one of its three staffing agencies: A.S.A.P. at (479) 750-2727, ONIN Staffing at (479) 751-0101, or 1st Employment Staffing at (479) 444-7671.
