Stephens Media LLC of Las Vegas recently announced it had named Ed Moss as CEO.
According to a news release dated Nov. 22, Moss is replacing Michael Ferguson, who stepped down effective immediately.
Moss was most recently president and CEO of The Denver Post in Colorado and prior to that was president and publisher of the San Diego Union-Tribune.
According to the announcement, Moss doubled the profits of those papers during his tenure.
“We are delighted to welcome Ed to Stephens Media,” Warren Stephens, chairman of Stephens Media and CEO of Little Rock’s Stephens Inc., said in the announcement. “Ed brings a wealth of talent to the company and will spearhead our increasing digital efforts.”
Ferguson has been involved with Stephens and its predecessor, Donrey Media Group, since 1968.
When Sherman Frederick stepped down as CEO in 2010, Ferguson expressed surprise at his own subsequent appointment.
“I did not know Sherman was going to be taking other responsibilities,” he told Arkansas Business in 2010.
