Scott Copas Moves Into New Role as Bob Shell Assumes Chairman's Seat at Baldwin & Shell (Movers & Shakers)

Bob Shell is assuming the role of chairman of the board at Baldwin & Shell Construction Co. in Little Rock. Also promoted were Scott Copas, to president and CEO; Doug Henson, to executive vice president and COO; Hank Johns, to executive vice president of Preconstruction Services; Karl Bartley, to vice president of Field Operations; Patrick Tenney, to president of the Northwest Arkansas Division; Rick Terry, to president of the Northeast Arkansas Division; Bobby Gosser Jr., to president of the Central Arkansas Division; Steve Hurley, to president of the Construction Services Division; Ted Grumbine, to vice president of Project Management & Quality Control; Jim Minor, to vice president of the Northwest Arkansas Division; Tony Curtis, to senior project manager of the Central Arkansas Division; Michael Meadors, to chief estimator of the Central Arkansas Division; Chuck Hesselbein, to director of Estimating & Preconstruction Services; Jeff Marcussen, to director of Building Information Modeling/Computer-Aided Design Services; Randall Haynes, to chief estimator of the Northwest Arkansas Division; Ron Pitts, to controller; Randy Shannon, to senior accounting specialist; and Clay Johns, to assistant project superintendent.

Sue Macomber recently joined Viridian in Little Rock as a senior project manager on the Sustainability Consulting team. Macomber holds a bachelor of science in civil engineering with an environmental emphasis. Leslie Allred was hired as a project manager and will work on LEED facilities. Allred is a recent graduate of Hendrix College, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in anthropology. Rick Vance, a senior project manager at Viridian and leader of its commissioning team, has been selected to speak at the 2014 National Conference on Building Commissioning.

Education

Dr. Tim Langford was appointed by Gov. Mike Beebe to the board of trustees of the Arkansas State University system. Langford graduated from Arkansas State University in Jonesboro before getting his medical degree from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences and served on the Arkansas Coordinating Board of Higher Education.

Cody Decker was recently promoted to assistant commissioner of research and technology at the Arkansas Department of Education in Little Rock. Decker has a bachelor’s degree in information science and a master’s in information quality and is currently pursuing a doctorate in information quality at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.

Courtney Lee Corwin was hired as special assistant to the president of Hendrix College in Conway. Corwin earned a bachelor’s degree in art history and German and a master’s in art history from Southern Methodist University.

Paula Adams Rogers will receive the 2014 Lewis Hine Award from the National Child Labor Committee in New York. Rogers is an education manager with UALR Children International and oversees programs for Little Rock students in kindergarten through 12th grade.

Financial Services

Mike Swanson was recently promoted to vice president at Parkway Bank in Rogers. Swanson has 20 years of banking experience and has been with Parkway for five years.

Johnathon W. Welch and James Michael Wilkins were recently promoted to bank assistant examiners at Arkansas State Bank Department in Little Rock.
