A Beebe banker scheduled to enter federal prison in less than two weeks has been banned from working in the banking industry in the future.
In a routine order signed Jan. 13 and made public on Friday, the Federal Deposit Insurance Company issued a "prohibition from further participation" against Patricia A. Hill, who last year confessed to embezzling almost $360,000 from First Security Bank's Beebe branch between November 2007 and April 2010.
She was sentenced last month to 27 months in federal prison, followed by two years of supervised release, and ordered to pay $258,420 in restitution. Hill is scheduled to surrender to U.S. Marshals on March 10 to begin serving her sentence at the Federal Prison Camp in Bryant, Texas.
Because Hill waived indictment and pleaded guilty to charges filed directly by the U.S. Attorney's Office in Little Rock, few details of her crime have been made public. The charge said only that she manipulated customer loans accounts to increase the amounts owed, then withdrew the additional amounts from the bank.
