Made By Few Tech Conference Sets Dates, Expands to 2 Days

The 2014 Made By Few tech conference will be held Aug. 22-23 from the Ron Robinson Theater at the Arcade Building in Little Rock's River Market District.

In its third year, Made By Few is a technology conference for designers, developers and entrepreneurs who design and create web and mobile applications. It drew attendees from 15 states to its 2013 edition held at the Clinton Presidential Center, and this year conference organizers are expanding the event to two days in an effort to attract more of a national -- and perhaps even international -- crowd.

"The event has been growing steadily and while we love that this started as an Arkansas conference, we are looking to start drawing even more folks in from out of state and across the world," said Arlton Lowry, local designer, serial entrepreneur and event co-organizer. "We want to put Little Rock on the map as an innovative center for the Midwest."

Five of 10 speakers have been scheduled, a mix of nationally prominent designers, illustrators, developers and entrepreneurs:

  • James Victore, independent designer
  • Michael Parenteau, creative director, Relevance
  • John Allison, founder,
  • Tuesday Bassen, senior designer, Tinybop
  • James White, designer, SignalNoise, who spoke at last year's conference.

Event co-organizer Abbi Siler said ticket costs will include admission to each day of the conference, the Designed by Few competition for local designers, the conference after-party, lunch and breakfast on both days, plus a conference t-shirt and other give-aways.

"In addition to the great line-up, there are some exciting things shaping up for the after party," she said.
