Plans in Place for New HQ on Main Street for CJRW

Last month Cranford Johnson Robinson Woods announced that it would be moving its offices to the 21,000-SF Fulk Building at Main and Third streets in downtown Little Rock, the longtime home of Bennett’s Military Supply, which will be moving elsewhere downtown.

CJRW’s wholly owned film studio, Jones Film & Video, will be moving directly across Main Street into the 7,000-SF former home of Mr. Cool’s Clothing, which is closing.

It will be leasing the space from Terraforma LLC of Little Rock, led by Doug Meyer and Dave Bruning. According to Bruning, Terraforma is in the process of acquiring the two buildings from Meyer’s family, and the LLC will serve as landlord when the transaction is complete.

CJRW had been searching for a new location downtown for years, and CEO Wayne Woods said the move to its new location will take place in mid-2015. The move coincides with the end of its lease at its current location.

“In the meantime, a complete renovation of the buildings will be done while at the same time protecting the historic aspects of both buildings,” Woods said.

The agency has been downtown since it started in 1961, Woods said, and at its current location on 303 W. Capitol Ave. since 1981.

According to CJRW, the space is roughly the same size as its current one. Woods said the company’s desire to move there has to do with the attraction of Main Street itself.

“We wanted to be part of all that is happening in the Main Street corridor,” he said. “I can tell you that our staff was very, very excited when we were able to announce our plans to them … after formally signing the lease.”

He said the company has signed a 10-year lease on both buildings.
