Dennis Smiley resigned Thursday as president and CEO of Arvest Bank of Benton County.
Smiley had been in the position since April 1, 2012 when he replaced David Short, who retired. Smiley had been president of Arvest Bank of Springdale before his promotion.
Jason Kincy, Arvest’s senior vice president and marketing director, said regional executive Scott Grigsby would take over the Benton County position on an interim basis. Arvest has already started the process to find a permanent replacement, but Kincy said there is no timetable for the decision.
"We’re in the process of choosing a replacement for that market," Kincy said. "We do have a deep bunch of great associates and we will make a move as quick as feasible."
Kincy declined to say why Smiley resigned after slightly less than two years as the head of Arvest of Benton County. Smiley had been with Arvest Bank since 1989, and was the CEO of the Arvest of Springdale for approximately 11 years.
"We do thank him for his time and all the work he did for Arvest, and we wish him the best," Kincy said.
