The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff unveiled its new logo at a chancellor investiture ceremony April 25 at the Pine Bluff Convention Center.
The school officially welcomed first-year Chancellor Laurence B. Alexander, who took over at the school’s ninth chancellor in July. In his speech, Alexander celebrated the past successes of the historically black college and said a new logo would help UAPB progress.
The logo features the iconic O’Bryant bell tower and the school’s interlocking initials.
“Together we can re-invent the land-grant vision of the 19th century and meet the global demands of the 21st century,” Alexander said. “One of the ways we have chosen to reinforce the university’s past, present and future is represented in our new brand.”
The logo was created by The Design Group of Little Rock. The university said the new logo would be applied to all communications in the next six weeks to two months.
The old logo, which features the bell tower and the previous names of the university, will be reserved for executive communications and formal documents such as graduate degrees.
