A sister company of Douglas Cos. in Conway has purchased 17.5 acres of land from school bus manufacturer, IC Bus LLC, for $1.8 million.
Diamond State LLC plans to build a distribution center on the property and commercially develop the southwest corner of the land. The property is located at the intersection of South German Lane and Dave Ward Drive and includes a 60,000-SF industrial building.
Douglas Cos. primarily is a tobacco and candy distributor that was founded in 1973 and has operated in Conway since 1978. In April, Douglas Cos. announced the acquisition of Tri-Com Inc., a Missouri convenience store distributor company.
The land deal was brokered by Newmark Grubb Arkansas, exclusively by Philip Hiegel who specializes in Conway property with the commercial real estate firm.
