Construction is expected to be completed by November on an office and warehouse facility in Bentonville, and it will have a different look.
The warehouse, located at 2608 S.E. J St., will be built with tilt walls, a form of concrete construction that the owners think looks better (and know costs more) than typical warehouse construction.
J. Street Co. LLC bought the 18-acre plot in March for $800,000 from the Louise Bishop Trust.
Bill McClard, a senior vice president with Lindsey & Associates, said he has already leased half of the space in the 160,000-SF warehouse. Crossland Construction Co. Inc. of Rogers is the contractor.
“It’s going to look a lot better than a metal building,” said Chris Schnurbusch of Crossland.
McClard said he hopes to have 280,000 SF of flex space at the location when all is said and done.
“There’s not any space available in Bentonville of that type,” McClard said. Crossland is also building a 20,000-SF office building at 2600 S.E. J adjacent to the warehouse.
