Network Security Engineers provide operational support for firewalls within company networks. This includes operational requests, emergency troubleshooting, and other project oriented duties. Excellent communication skills are required to interface with other employees who are both technical and nontechnical. Position is responsible for all network security / firewall-related issues on Information Security team, including: Designing, modifying, and updating configuration on firewall infrastructure ? Ensure production stability of Firewall infrastructure ? Make recommendations and coordinate Firewall upgrades / process improvements ? Troubleshoot and resolve all Firewall issues (24/7 support via oncall rotation) ? Gathering customer requirements to create detailed implementation plans in accordance change management and incident management processes ? Investigate and resolve incident tickets ? Troubleshoot traffic passing firewalls via logs and packet captures ? Interface with other areas of organization regarding general security ? Generate and update network documentation and diagrams ? Facilitate security audit processes ? Administration of network firewalls including Cisco, Checkpoint and Juniper in regards to Policy, NAT, and Firewall gateway OS configuration Requirements: ? 5-7 years overall background in information technology, including increasing responsibility and experience in information security. ? Strong, current Cisco ASA experience at the enterprise level required ? Experience with multiple site firewall installations, including highly available clusters ? Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving and analytical abilities ? Able to provide 24/7 support as needed via oncall rotation ? Able to travel if needed (minimal) ? The individual should work well under pressure, grasp new ideas quickly and be able to thrive in a dynamic and diverse environment. ? Ability to deal with changing priorities and multi-task several projects. ? Willingness to help others ? Excellent communication and interpersonal skills ? In depth knowledge of various aspects and components of the security infrastructure, including encryption methods/standards, real-time intruder detection, perimeter security, event correlation, authentication services, vulnerability analysis, VPN, IPSEC, advanced incident handling and forensics best practices. ? Experience in several of the following areas: network, database, and application security architecture for Internet E-commerce, Extranet, and Intranet systems, web application security, identity management, PKI, LDAP, wireless, LAN/WPA security. ? Experience with scripting (Perl, VB, or Shell) or C/C++ programming to automate processes and reporting a plus. ? Understanding of commonly accepted industry standards and best practices such as COBIT, ISO27001, ITIL, or NIST. ? Understanding of current legal and regulatory requirements for state, federal, and international regulations associated with information security, such as Sarbanes-Oxley, HIPAA, GLBA, SB1386, etc. ? Familiarity with more than two of the following: IDS, Firewalls, MS Server & workstation platforms (NT/2000/2003,XP Pro), Unix, iSeries, Cisco IOS, PKI, Databases, Encryption. ? Strong understanding of the fundamentals of internet protocols ? TCP/IP, UDP, BGP, etc. ? Application Layer Protocols, DNS, HTTP, SMTP, etc. ?
