JOB PURPOSE Assists in maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing commercial vehicles and related equipment. Also maintains, inspects, grades, changes and repairs commercial vehicle tires to ensure an effective Tire Program. ESSENTIAL JOB RESULTS Key Result Area #1 Maintenance and Repairs • Successfully repair equipment as assigned, controlling down time • Perform preventive maintenance on all equipment within specified Service Repair Times (SRT). • Follows established maintenance procedures and guidelines • Safety procedures are followed at all times Key Result Area #2 Record Keeping • Accurately complete all required forms • Enter repair orders accurately in the computer Key Result Area #3 Professional Development • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending and participate in appropriate training • Contributes to the team effort by recommending improved processes • Works well with others within the department and company • Contributes to department goals by accomplishing related results as needed • Ensures company confidentiality Requirements: SKILLS, ABILITY AND KNOWLEDGE Core • Ability to communicate through verbal and written correspondence with all levels of management, employees and outside contacts • Accurate typing and data entry skills • Strong Customer Service skills Specialized • Basic knowledge of DOT, OSHA, and EPA rules and regulations • Skills and ability to properly maintain and repair all commercial vehicle related equipment • Skills and ability to properly maintain, diagnose and repair all tire related equipment • Obtain technical certifications in brake and refrigeration systems MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Prefer entry-level knowledge of vehicle maintenance and hands-on commercial tire maintenance. Must posses the tools required to accomplish the essential job results.
