Springdale Har-Ber survived one more week atop the poll, holding off Fort Smith Southside 16-13 in overtime. Meanwhile, Cabot was exposed - at least for not being able to handle the sloppiest track around in a 35-7 blowout loss to Bryant and Chris Rycraw (four TDs, 188 yards rushing). Russellville, already with an impressive win at Bryant and with Cabot upcoming next week at home, is silently moving up the ladder and could sneak away with 7A-Central.

High School Power Poll

1. Springdale Har-Ber (8-0). The key is survival in 7A-West, and Har-Ber is doing that.

2. Bentonville (7-1). One more win this week and 7A-West boils down to the showdown with Har-Ber, as we all along expected.

3. El Dorado (8-0). Wildcats clawed up an overachieving Lake Hamilton last week.

4. West Memphis (8-0). Still the beast of the east in any classification.

5. Russellville (6-1-1). Crimson Cyclone has been lying quietly, and now has shot at winning 7A-Central.

6. Bryant (7-1). Yeah, we thought Bryant could beat Cabot, but by the mercy rule? Gosh.

7. Cabot (7-1). Mike Malham can tell his Panthers, "If you're going to lose, lose in the regular season, on the road, on a sloppy track ..."
