Arkansas' basketball program received some much-needed good news Wednesday.
Guards Rickey Scott and Mardracus Wade signed letters of intent with Arkansas. Forward Marvell Waithe is expected to sign later this week.
Scott was rated as a four-star recruit by Rivals.com and Wade was listed as a Rivals.com three-star. Scott (6-foot-3, 195 pounds) had nine scholarship offers, including Kansas State and Baylor. He averaged 18.3 points per game his junior season while compiling an average of 6.7 rebounds at Irving MacArthur School in Irving, Texas.
Wade (6-2, 170) had a longer list of offers, including Alabama, Missouri, Memphis, Ole Miss, Mississippi State and Vanderbilt, but chose the Razorbacks after playing at both Hargrave Military Academy in Virginia and the Memphis Magic AAU team.
Waithe, a highly recruited player out of Canada in high school (35.5 points per game his senior season), had played two seasons at Tallahassee (Fla.) Community College. He put up 18.9 points per game as a freshman, and the 6-9, 216 pound forward will likely be an immediate impact player for the Razorbacks next season.
