It's well established that Bobby Petrino has a keen offensive mind. That's been written time and again with Petrino not even two full seasons into his tenure at Arkansas.
What's amazing about Petrino's ability to craft and call offenses is that every time folks think they've seen what Arkansas is capable of, there is more.
And more.
And more.
Arkansas scored eight touchdowns in a 56-20 victory against Troy on Saturday in Fayetteville. Seven different players scored, and every offensive skill position was involved.
Remember what Petrino told us the night he was announced as Arkansas' coach? Fresh in from Atlanta, he stepped to the podium late on that December night and boiled down his philosophy on offense:
"I do believe you have to be able to run the football when you want to, run the football when you have to. I believe you have to be able to throw the football when you want to, and throw the football when you have to," Petrino said. "When you can do both, then you can definitely be the aggressor. That's what I want."
That's what Petrino and Arkansas are getting. Just look at the Troy game for an example of that. And before you ask: No. We're not making too much of what Arkansas did in a nonconference game.
What the Razorbacks accomplished in spreading the scoring wealth was jaw-dropping, and it's got to be rough on defensive coordinators.
In case you've forgotten, here's a breakdown of how the Razorbacks scored on Saturday. They did it in every way imaginable:
