FAYETTEVILLE - Stefan Welsh has been suspended indefinitely from the Arkansas basketball team, according to a Northwest Arkansas television report.
Citing multiple sources, 40/29 sports director Mark Lericos reported Thursday afternoon that Welsh, a 6-foot-3 senior guard, was being disciplined for an undisclosed reason. News of Welsh's suspension comes four days after sophomore guard/forward Jason Henry was dismissed from the team.
Arkansas has yet to confirm the suspension of Welsh, who averaged 11.4 points and 2.9 rebounds over 29.5 minutes in 2008-09. Welsh played in all 30 Razorback games this year, starting 24.
Welsh is not on campus for the second semester, but is still a part of the team, athletic department officials confirmed.
