Petrino seems to be getting as much of it in as he can until then.
Today Petrino hosts a golf tournament for media, car dealers and Razorback Sports Properties sponsors. Petrino will be playing as part of 18 foursomes scheduled to participate.
Earlier this week Petrino was in Springfield, Mo., watching his daughter, Katie, play in the AJGA Bass Pro Shops/Payne Stewart Junior Championship.
Petrino told the Springfield News Leader he's merely out to watch his daughter. He's not trying to give her tips on her golf game. Katie, Bobby Petrino told the paper, routinely beats him on the course. But having dad around didn't seem to hurt Katie Petrino's performance. A rising senior at Fayetteville High School, Petrino followed her opening-round, 5-over-par 77 with a second-day 73. That puts her in the hunt --tied for sixth place, six strokes off the lead --with 18 holes to play.
Katie Petrino recently finished fourth in the Arkansas Women's Golf Association Junior Girls' Championship at Chenal Country Club.
