The City of Little Rock Parks and Recreation sent out an advisory this afternoon saying that the Rebsamen 18 Hole Championship Golf Course will be closing temporarily to begin the process of converting the existing L93 Bent grass greens to Champion Ultr-dwarf greens.
The conversion is scheduled to begin on Thursday with the Parks Department anticipating a reopening of the golf course sometime this fall.
The 9-hole Executive Course (yes, we certainly feel like quite the executive out there when we play the short course) features Tif-dwarf Bermuda grass greens and will stay open. From what we can gather, the driving range will remain open, too.
Rebsamen is the second golf course in Little Rock to partially close due to the replacement of some of its greens. Pleasant Valley Country Club began replacing its bentgrass greens with bermudgrass earlier this month and is scheulded to have play return to the greens by the first weekend of October.
