SEC Honors Razorbacks' Mallett
Posted at 10:14:00 AM by Chris Bahn
Arkansas quarterback Ryan Mallett didn't throw a single touchdown pass in Saturday's 33-16 victory against South Carolina. Mallett still had a game worthy of recognition.

Mallett was named SEC offensive player of the week after completing 23 of 27 passes for 329 yards with 0 interceptions. He set a school record with an 85.2 percent completion percentage (minimum of 20 attempts).

Arkansas pulled away in the second half as Mallett went 12 of 13 for 160 yards. The Razorbacks scored on three of four possessions in the second half as Mallett torched the Gamecocks' pass defense, a unit that had been ranked third nationally.

Typically, Mallett is one of the players brought into Bobby Petrino's Monday press conference. I hope to update more on Mallett's performance from there.

Check back in the Playing Field. Also, I'll have updates via Twitter throughout the press conference beginning at 1:30. Follow along on @ArkSports360.

Mallett looked absolutely great Saturday. Also, the team made very few mistakes. One penalty for 5 yards, no fumbles, no interceptions is about all you can ask for. We are still vunerable to the bomb, but getting better all the time. I am so happy we have Bobby Petrino a...

Chris I heard something interesting today. Heard that at the end of the season when ND gets rid of Weis (which they say is inevitible ) that ND will go hot and heavy after Urban Meyer. With the vacancy open at Fl they would love to have BP as the headcoach. Do you think there...

I don't think Urban Meyer would leave Florida to go to ND. ND does not have the prestige or the recruiting advantage it once had. Also, Florida can match the money and has a nearby recruiting base unequaled just about any team in the U.S except for USC. That being said, i...

If Meyer turned down ND I was told they would go after Cincinnati's coach. Can't think of his name. Maybe BP will be left alone !!!
