Darius Winston's re-commitment to Arkansas on Friday gives the Razorbacks two of the top 10 cornerbacks in EPSN's prep rating of high school cornerbacks, along with Tulsa's David Gordon.
The recruiting of defensive backs isn't done yet. Both Otis Kirk of rivals.com and Dudley Dawson of scout.com have reported that Arkansas is seriously interested in Jenks, Okla., cornerback Gabe Lynn, who ESPN lists as a safety in their prep standout rankings.
Look for more as well as Bobby Petrino and company rebuild the Hogs' defense over the next couple of recruiting seasons.
Winston, of Helena-West Helena, is a five-star prospect in both rivals.com and scout.com, and plenty is known about him already (he's also a distant cousin to all the other Winstons who have played at Arkansas since Dennis "Dirt" Winston played for the Hogs in 1973-76).
But, as for Gordon, EPSN's Billy Tucker writes:
"[Gordon] holds the final spot in the top 10 and may be one of the fastest pure corners in this class. Right now, the Arkansas pledge is a bit raw in terms of technique but has tremendous upside with his long, rangy frame and impressive athleticism.
A big selling point for Arkansas is cornerbacks coach Lorenzo Ward, who in his coaching career (including Virginia Tech) has 13 players in the NFL.
