Espn.comcollegeu came out with their prestige rankings. I thought it was interesting. Overall, through the history of college football, they ranked Oklahoma #1, followed by USC,Ohio St. ND and Nebraska with Alabama 6th and Tx 7th. The hogs came in 19th right behind Georig...

It was also interesting that in the decade of the 50s and 60s, the hogs were 10th on the list.(Ole Miss was 5), in the 70s, the hogs were 13th. In the 80s, the hogs were 20th, tied with Iowa. In the 90s, we were 63rd, tied with Boise St.

According to rivals.com, Arkansas 2009 recruiting class was 16th. Ole Miss. was 18th. Early projections for 2010 have Ole Miss. at 44 and Arkansas at 53. The genuis better get on the stick!
brucethepig [11/3/2009 6:12:27 PM]  [report abuse]
He better giddyup and go. You just worry about OM and let AR fans worry about the Hogs.

Hawgfan and whoever fits-- Is 16th going to get us over the hump with Alabama, LSU,Florida,Georiga,Tennessee?
froghog [11/3/2009 6:15:14 PM]  [report abuse]
That just the point Bruce-- Outside of Arkansas, NOBODY worries about the hogs or what they do.

Not till BP kicks that butt!!!!!!!!!!!!! And it really doesn't matter if you're 6th, 12th, or 20th. Projections can be very misleading. Look at Mustain. These high recruits don't always pan out. Character, work ethic, brains. There are a lot of things that have to fall into ...

Well lets keep going, According to rivals.com 2010 early projections have Alabama at 5, Tenn. at 6th, Florida at 7th, Georgia at 8th, Auburn at 13th, Miss St. at 48 and even Vandy ahead of the hogs at 52nd! How do you spell TROUBLE on the hill?
brucethepig [11/3/2009 7:15:00 PM]  [report abuse]
Screw the early projections. If we stay 52nd, yeah I'd say BP dropped the ball but he won't stay there and you know it. If you can be in the top 25 in recruiting you'll be ok. The main thing you have to do year after year is to fill your needs. 2010 Ar really doesn't need to...

Bruce, I hate to break this to you, but Vandy is 52nd, Arkansas is 53rd. You said that if Ark. could stay in the top 25 in recruiting, we would be okay. Just for the record, and for some reason I could only go back to 2002, Nutts recruiting classes were 2002-26th, 2003-29...

No worries about recruiting kool-aid NUTT hating hog fans. When its all said and done, Wally and the boys will tell you how great Arkansas did and how great the future is. Joseph Goebbels will be looking down somewhere saying "WELL DONE MY SON"
