by Chris Bahn 9/28/2012 1:45 pm

Ranking The Razorbacks: Protecting Wilson Again Critical With Moore, A&M Looming

by Chris Bahn 9/26/2012 6:00 pm

Because quarterback Tyler Wilson has missed time this season with a concussion, there’s been plenty of focus on how the offensive line has protected him. Seeing Wilson sacked in his first play back from the injury only heightened the spotlight on how Arkansas is protecting. Texas A&M enters the game with 16 sacks in three outings, the best output in the nation. That’s an average of 5.3, including eight in the Aggies’ SEC opener against Florida. Defensive end Damontre Moore has proven tough for opponents to block and leads the country with 2.0 sacks per game.

by Chris Bahn 8/1/2012 11:15 am

Arkansas football players gave John L. Smith a standing ovation on the day he was introduced as coach. They loved his quirky personality and appreciated his willingness as an assistant coach to dole out either pats on the back or kicks in the butt as needed. How will they respond to him this season? Bahn: Offensive Identity Still A Work In Progress For Petrino's 2011 Razorbacks

by Chris Bahn 9/2/2011 1:00 pm

Until we see the 2011 Razorbacks in action for a game or two, strengths and weaknesses of this group will be up for debate. Even with six offensive starters returning, things have changed and the offense will have a different feel than the one that stretched defenses with deep passes and outside running a year ago. Remember how wide open the Southeastern Conference East Division race was in 2010? Expect more of the same, and maybe even a crazier finish in 2011. Meanwhile, the only team with the talent to duplicate Auburn’s 8-0 SEC record last year is LSU, which won 10 games last year while ranking 107th in the nation in passing, and in 2011 will lean heavily on its ultra-fast defense and power running game against a manageable schedule. Auburn will have to replay last year’s magical highlights on its video board for its fans to enjoy this season. Alabama and Arkansas have the pieces in place to repeat their 10-win seasons of a year ago. How does ArkansasSports360.com sees it playing out? Jim Harris breaks it down in the 2011 ArkansasSports360.com Football Preview:
