Calling all bingo fans: There will be bingo for a great cause this fall courtesy of Arkansas Lighthouse for the Blind. The nonprofit will host its inaugural fall fundraiser that will support its mission to provide more programs and services for people who are blind or visually impaired here in Arkansas.

Katie Hall joined Arkansas Lighthouse for the Blind in February as manager of marketing and development. Hall previously handled corporate communications for Winston-Salem Industries for the Blind in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, which acquired ALB in 2014.

Dining in the Dark

Arkansas Lighthouse for the Blind hosted its Dining in the Dark at Noah’s Event Venue. Guests enjoyed a lighted reception and silent auction, followed by a seated dinner. Proceeds benefited ALB’s programs for blind and visually impaired Arkansans.

Arkansas Lighthouse for the Blind plans to expand its workforce by 40 percent and is looking to add "dozens" of full-time jobs in its sewing operations department for people who are blind or visually impaired, it said.

Arkansas Lighthouse for the Blind Celebrates 70th Anniversary

A benefit for the 70th anniversary of the Arkansas Lighthouse for the Blind, Dining in the Dark was held at the Governor’s Mansion with a pre-event reception at the Rogers House. Aprons and dining instructions were provided for guests, as the meal was received in complete darkness. Arkansas Lighthouse for the Blind employs the visually impaired and blind to produce quality products for the U.S. Army and U.S. Navy, as well as for private industry.
