CBS To Televise Arkansas-Alabama Sept. 15

Arkansas’ highly anticipated matchup with Alabama on Sept. 15 is going to be nationally televised. CBS has slotted the game for a 2:30 p.m. kickoff. Both teams figure to be ranked in the Top 15 entering the game for a third consecutive season. This is the fourth consecutive year that the Razorbacks and Crimson Tide have been featured on CBS.

LSU-Arkansas Officially Set For Post-Thanksgiving Broadcast On CBS

Arkansas-LSU football 2012 has a venue and now an official kickoff date. For the 15th time in 17 years the Razorbacks and Tigers will meet on the Friday after Thanksgiving. CBS will televise the game, which will be played in Fayetteville for the first time since 1992. LSU beat the Razorbacks by 24 points in Baton Rouge last season, but Arkansas has won three of the previous five meetings. Both teams are expected to enter the season in the Top 15.

Razorbacks' Jeff Long 'Disappointed' With CBS For Replaying Petrino Outburst

Arkansas Athletic Director Jeff Long is disappointed with the sideline outburst that CBS cameras caught from Coach Bobby Petrino in a 41-17 loss at LSU on Nov. 25. But it’s not the word choice or Petrino’s actions — pointing across the field and delivering profanity in the direction of LSU’s Les Miles — that bother Long as much as the decision by CBS to show the outburst in slow motion, multiple times. Long took the network to task for its handling of the situation.

CBS Picks Up Sept. 24 Arkansas-Alabama Game

Arkansas and Alabama meet Sept. 24 in what figures to be one of the more crucial SEC games this season. Not surprisingly, the (currently) 14th-ranked Razorbacks and No. 2 Crimson Tide will meet on CBS in the 2:30 p.m. game. It is the third consecutive year the schools will meet in that timeslot.

Arkansas netted 102 rushing yards. The Razorbacks running backs averaged a modest 4.5 yards per carry. Are the totals worth noting, especially when considering the Razorback have two inexperienced tackles and no Knile Davis? Sure. But these numbers are not an outright guarantee that doom, gloom and the Liberty Bowl await.

Practice performance through the week is no guarantee of how a team plays on Saturday, but for a second week in a row Arkansas Coach Bobby Petrino was encouraged by what he saw from his 10th-ranked team. Petrino said the way the team practiced last week set the stage for a victory at Georgia and he sounded similarly upbeat about this week.
