New England Patriots quarterback Ryan Mallett spent three years throwing to Joe Adams, Jarius Wright and Greg Childs. Mallett was their college quarterback in 2009 and 2010. He redshirted in 2008, but still had the opportunity to be around the trio, all of whom were drafted in the fourth round of this year’s draft. Having that sort of knowledge of Adams, Wright and Childs, plus a year in the NFL, Mallett told ArkansasSports360.com he believes the three can be successful at the next level.

Panthers Pick Former Razorback Joe Adams In Fourth Round With Pick No. 104 Of NFL Draft

Arkansas wide receiver/punt return specialist Joe Adams was selected No. 104 overall by the Carolina Panthers in the fourth round of the NFL Draft. Adams, a consensus All-American, was the 16th wide receiver taken in the draft. He caught 52 passes for 652 yards and three touchdowns, averaged 16.9 yards per punt return with four scores and averaged 13.9 yards per rush with a 92-yard touchdown.

Agents, Carolina Panthers Issue Statements Regarding Mallett 'Partying' Report

Ryan Mallett did cancel meetings with the Carolina Panthers on April 9. But, his agents said, there is no truth to an Internet report that the former Arkansas quarterbak cancelled because he’d been out on the town partying the night before. Mallett was suffering from “flu-like symptoms” and was unable to attend meetings with the team. Pro Football Talk has an email from Panthers’ officials backing up that story.

Ryan Mallett has impressed NFL teams with his arm on multiple occasions. They’ve seen tape of him from games and witnessed his workouts at Arkansas’ pro day and the NFL Scouting Combine. Mallett’s task the next two weeks is to impress teams in other ways. He’ll rack up thousands of miles as he has individual meetings with teams across the country.
