Those who followed expanded into the marketing arena, and those newly minted graduates introduced brokering and data-driven selling to the farm. Biotechnologists burst on the scene, and with them they brought genetically modified varieties of various crops.

Michael Kidd, director of the Center of Excellence for Poultry Science and head of the Department of Poultry Science at the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville, has been named the Poultry Industry Leader of the Year by The Poultry Federation, based in Little Rock. Kidd joined UA’s Dale Bumpers College of Agricultural, Food & Life Sciences in 2010. He is responsible for the Center ‘s programs in poultry science and related disciplines.

Garver LLC Building Upon 95 Years in Business

Garver LLC in North Little Rock is celebrating its 95th anniversary this year. Founded by Neil Garver after World War I, the company now has nearly 400 employees and 17 offices in nine states. The firm shortened its name from Garver Engineers after expanding its service offerings to include architecture, survey and construction services.
