Between some amazing plays by Little Rock Christian Academy junior quarterback Houston Angel, the Hot Springs Lakeside Rams put on a clinic of defensive line dominance and field position football to run off 41 straight points, enough to overcome Angel's almost otherworldly effort in a 41-27 Lakeside victory Monday in the second game of the First Security Kickoff Classic. When the Rams found short distances to travel for third-quarter scores to break the game open, they gave it to fullback Blakely Lawless, who earned MVP honors with his 93 yards on 16 carries and two touchdowns.

Michael Dyer's transfer to Arkansas State is officially complete. Dyer, an All-SEC running back at Auburn the last two seasons, was announced as a transfer by Arkansas State on Tuesday. Michael Dyer was the first Auburn tailback to rush for 1,000 yards in each of his first two seasons, but Coach Gene Chizik suspended him indefinitely before the Chick-fil-A Bowl for violating unspecified team rules. A source told the Associated Press on Friday that Dyer had been granted a release from his scholarship at Auburn, and there was speculation that he would follow Malzahn, who was announced as the new coach of the Red Wolves last month.

Auburn tailback Mike Dyer has been suspended indefinitely for violating undisclosed team rules and won’t play in the Tigers’ bowl game. Auburn confirmed the suspension of the first-team All-Southeastern Conference player Sunday and said he will miss the Chick-fil-A Bowl Dec. 31 against Virginia.

Josh Alberius knew he had no place to hide, feeling worse than anyone in War Memorial Stadium after an interception of his pass set up Maumelle for the go-ahead score late in the fourth quarter. But Alberius rallied his Little Rock Christian squad, covering 61 yards in just under 3 minutes and scoring with 35 seconds left on a fourth-down, 7-yard toss to Will Duncan for a 28-24 win Tuesday in the Arkansas High School Kickoff Classic.
