Lonnie Gosha is no longer a member of the Arkansas football team. Coach Bobby Petrino said the freshman defensive lineman quit. Details beyond that are unknown at this time. Gosha had received playing time earlier in the season and recorded three tackles and a sack against Auburn on Oct. 8.

After an inauspicious start, Arkansas' defense got a handle on what Auburn was doing, stopped Michael Dyer over the last three quarters, grabbed three turnovers, and keyed a 38-14 romp over the Tigers Saturday night. Seniors Jerry Franklin, Tramain Thomas and Jake Bequette, finally back after four weeks on the shelf with an injury, led the way.

New Mexico’s nine sacks against was of of the first thing Arkansas defensive players noticed about this week's opponent. How could it not be? Colorado State had nine sacks against New Mexico in a 19-12 victory. That's the kind of sack total (the NCAA official site lists the total of sacks allowed at 10) that has defensive players licking their chops.

Arkansas will host over two dozen recruits this weekend, with prospects from all around the nation slated to be on the Fayetteville campus. One less-familiar among the recruits visiting is St. Augustine (Fla.) fullback Tarek Odom. Odom is also considering Florida State, Arkansas State, Florida International and Eastern Michigan. Arkansas' Kris Cinkovich is the lead recruiter on Odom.
