Crain Media Team of Sherwood has launched a new sports-centric station for its Searcy market. KRZS-AM, 1300, “The Champion,” began broadcasting in mid-May, according to Mike Horne, Crain’s general manager.

Renee Gork can now safely dust off her Gator apparel. Gork, who ignited controversy and lost her job at a Northwest Arkansas radio station for (among other things) wearing a Gators cap to a University of Arkansas press conference, has resurfaced in Gainesville. She has been hired, according to a report on Gainesville.com, by a UF-owned radio station.

Former Razorback Michael Smith Gives Media A Try With Hog Sports Radio

Former Razorback Michael Smith is experiencing life on the opposite end of the reporter-player relationship. Hog Sports Radio recently hired Smith, who ran for 2,023 yard and 16 touchdowns during his career, as a reporter and on-air personality. Smith has already appeared on “The Pro Knows” show from 12-1 p.m.
