Michael Juiliano, aka Hot Dog Mike, has closed his storefront restaurant in the River Market District. His business died as it had lived: on social media. Juiliano made the announcement on the restaurant’s Facebook page and the closure followed a blistering but, in our eyes, fair review on the Arkansas Times food blog Eat Arkansas.
New Jersey native Mike Juiliano – better known as Hot Dog Mike – called a few different places home before he became Metro Little Rock’s most famous hot dog vendor. After living in Asheville, N.C. for 12 years and then a brief time in Maryland, he came to Little Rock in 2008 as a hospitality consultant to help reopen downtown Little Rock’s historic Capital Hotel. Two years later, his traveling hot dog business was born.
