The Tidwell Project hosted Celebrate the Moments of the Season 10, featuring entertainment by Grammy nominated singer/songwriter Eric Benet, at the Peabody Hotel. Dr. Alonzo and Mrs. Susan Williams and Dr. Joe L. Hargrove and Dr. Frances R. Harris were event chairs; Derek Fisher, Joe Johnson and Corliss Williamson served as honorary chairs.

Tidwell Project, Inc. hosted its 9th annual fundraiser “Celebrate the Moments of the Season,” at the Peabody Hotel. Its mission is to make a difference in a young person’s life by exposing economically disadvantaged teens to the performing arts.

The 6th Annual Amethyst Ball, which benefits the Arkansas Coalition Against Domestic Violence, was held at the Peabody Hotel ballroom. Guests enjoyed cocktails, dinner, silent and live auctions and entertainment by The Shannon Boshears Band. The coalition honored Neile Jones, a survivor of domestic violence.

Count College Football Hall of Fame coach Bobby Bowden as another one of those “old-school guys” who would prefer the colleges not go to a playoff system or disassemble the many varied and historical leagues from coast to coasts to create what are termed "super conferences." He also hates to see what's happening to a business that taken its toll even on the Bowden family, all in the name of money.

Bobby Bowden, who built Florida State into a powerhouse football program before retiring after the 2009 season, will be the speaker at Monday's luncheon of the Little Rock Touchdown Club, scheduled for the Peabody Hotel ballroom in downtown Little Rock. The buffet opens at 11 a.m. and the program begins at noon.

Women & Children First hosted a ball in honor of Woman of the Year Ginger Beebe, wife of Arkansas Gov.r Mike Beebe. Guests sipped ‘Ginger-tinis’ and dined European style, with the salad following the main course, at the Peabody Little Rock Hotel. Lawrence Hamilton serenaded the First Lady, and the Tonya Leeks Band provided after-dinner dance music.

The 5th Annual Amethyst Ball, presented by DaySpring Behavioral Health Services and benefiting Arkansas Coalition Against Domestic Violence, was held at the Peabody Hotel ballroom. Guests enjoyed cocktails, a buffet, silent and live auctions and entertainment by The Shannon Boshears Band. Attorney General Dustin and Bobbi McDaniel were honored for their efforts to improve awareness of and responses to Arkansas victims of domestic violence.
