Pediatrics Plus opened its new, 23,000-SF facility in Russellville on Monday. The developmental preschool and therapy center is located at the former home of Hog Wild Fun Center. The project was $4 million for acquisition and renovations.

Russellville voters on Tuesday upheld a zoning ordinance that will enable Wal-Mart to build a Neighborhood Market on the city's growing west side. With about 59 percent of the vote, voters approved a zoning ordinance approved by the city council in April to accommodate the retailer's plans.

Those initiatives have earned Russellville honorable-mention recognition as a 2012 Arkansas Business City of Distinction for Green/Energy Conservation.
