Razorbacks Name Six Team Captains For 2012 Football Season

by Chris Bahn 5/21/2012 11:40 am

Leadership from within was a significant factor in Arkansas football getting through a tumultuous spring. Players in leadership roles helped the Razorbacks end last month on a high note. Those same players will be asked to set the tone in summer workouts, something that ought to be relatively easy after dealing with a rare April coaching change. Quarterback Tyler Wilson, running back Knile Davis, center Travis Swanson, defensive tackle Alfred Davis and linebackers Tenarius Wright and Alonzo Highsmith. All six were heavily involved in getting the Razorbacks through the spring and handling media questions about the departure of Bobby Petrino and hiring of John L. Smith.

Bahn: Petrino's Message On Slow Starts Slow To Sink In With Razorbacks

by Chris Bahn 10/28/2011 11:00 am

Playing catch up will catch up with the Razorbacks eventually. That’s the message players and coaches delivered throughout the week. From offense to defense the talk was what Arkansas can do to stop the slow starts. Both sides of the football are culpable. Look at the 600 yards allowed by the defense in opening quarters the past four games. Then shift attention to the fact the offense has been outscored by 31 points in first halves. There’s flirting with disaster. Then there’s taking disaster out for dinner and drinks. That’s where the Razorbacks are right now.

LSU, Alabama Will Be Tough For Razorbacks, Others To Beat In SEC West (Inside the 2011 ArkansasSports360.com Football Preview)

by 7/18/2011 3:24 pm

Remember how wide open the Southeastern Conference East Division race was in 2010? Expect more of the same, and maybe even a crazier finish in 2011. Meanwhile, the only team with the talent to duplicate Auburn’s 8-0 SEC record last year is LSU, which won 10 games last year while ranking 107th in the nation in passing, and in 2011 will lean heavily on its ultra-fast defense and power running game against a manageable schedule. Auburn will have to replay last year’s magical highlights on its video board for its fans to enjoy this season. Alabama and Arkansas have the pieces in place to repeat their 10-win seasons of a year ago. How does ArkansasSports360.com sees it playing out?
