Average state personal income in the United States grew by 3.9 percent in 2014 from 2 percent in 2013, according to estimates by the U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis. Personal income in Arkansas rose 3.1 percent in 2014 compared with 2013, from $108.6 billion to $112 billion, a gain that ranked it 36th in the nation, the report said.
Personal income in Arkansas dropped 1.9 percent in first-quarter 2013. That showing placed Arkansas at No. 48 among the states. The state’s personal income had grown by 3 percent in the fourth quarter of 2012.
