Former FBI Specialist Cyrus Smith Takes Over Public Safety at University of the Ozarks (Movers & Shakers)

Cyrus Smith has been named the University of the Ozarks’ new director of public safety, replacing Jeannette Willis, who retired this month. Smith’s duties began July 1. A 2006 graduate of the university, Smith had worked as an investigative specialist with the FBI in San Antonio, Texas, since 2010.

$2M Donation Will Renovate Chapel at University of the Ozarks

The University of the Ozarks announces a $2 million gift from Frances E. Wilson of Tulsa, Okla., to renovate the school's chapel. Wilson made the donation in memory of her late husband, Thomas D. Wilson, and the school will rename the building the Munger-Wilson Memorial Chapel.

Walton Scholarships Spread Education Through South America

The Walton International Scholarship Program is an Arkansas-specific program available to South American students. Participants get a full ride, paid for entirely by the program, to either Harding in Searcy, John Brown University in Siloam Springs or the University of the Ozarks in Clarksville. Sam Walton himself started it 26 years ago.
